Located in the Central Region of Adrinian, the Province of Tierra Worden has always been an interesting case. The province was originally a colony of Nueva Imperia, and is named after one of the most famous explorers and naturalists in Adrinian history, Pedro Worden. However, after years of perceived exploitation and overregulation, the province revolted against its colonial oppressor in 1823 alongside its neighbor Platalta. The two formed the short lived Republic of Worden, and maintained a unified front against their respective overlords until the republic's defeat and dissolution in 1830.
In 1870, the province then lead the movement for unification under the Second Confederation of Adrinian, and later led the revolt against that government in 1911 during the Second Adrinian Civil War.
Today, Tierra Worden enjoys a booming agricultural industry, growing cocoa, coffee, and lavender industry, which account for much of the nation's exports. The province is largely liberal, with a few areas near Platalta leaning more conservative.
