Albania (Englisc: Albany; Scots: Alban), officially the Kingdom of England and Scotland, is an island country in north-western Europe, consisting of the Alban kingdoms of England and Scotland, as well as numerous overseas territories outside of Europe. The Kingdom borders Wales to its west, and is otherwise surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean; with the North Sea to the northeast, the Channel of Charlemagne to its south, and the Celtic Sea to the southwest. With an area of 208,188 km2 in Europe, Albania is the largest island country in Europe, and Europe's fourth most populated state with a population of 53.2 million in 2021. Its capital city is Wynceaster, while the country's largest city is Lunden.
Despite being separated from continental Europe, Albania has retained a large amount of influence over European politics and has been involved in continental European affairs throughout much of its early-modern history; it formed an amiable relationship with numerous German states throughout the Age of Discovery, commonly described as the "Germalban Friendship" (German: Deutsch-Albanisches Freundschaft) which persists to the modern day. The ruling house of Albania, Wessex-Ascania-Wettin, has ruled over numerous German states throughout its existence, which cemented itself as an influential dynasty throughout Central Europe. It participated in the Age of Discovery, colonizing and settling the Atlantic Seaboard along with the Dutch and Swedish. Its North American possessions stretched over a large area of Northern America; and later evolved into its numerous dominions; which maintain a large amount of independence from Albania- but retains amiable relations with its mother nation.
