Wesia, officially the Kingdom of Wesia, is a country in Anteria. It covers an area of 45,246 km2 (17,470 sq mi) and has a population of more than 12 million. The capital and largest city is Osvern. The government is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. The official language is Wesian, although various Anterian languages are also spoken.
Wesia was formed in the mid-fifteenth century by a group of kingdoms and city-states under the Sussac Dynasty. Over the next two centuries, Osvern and various other cities became major centers for trade, commerce and banking. In the late 16th century, vast territorial gains were made over various city-states and maritime republics. Wesia also began expanding its colonial empire from the early 17th century. Disagreements between a number of oligarchic families on dividing control of various areas of commerce led to the Treaty of Fria in the 1687. However, tensions between these families culminated in the Wesian Oligarchic Wars in the 18th century. The current House of Hagan succeeded to the throne in 1792. Following demands for democratic reform, a charter was formed in 1877. Further democratic reforms led to the establishment of the legislative council in 1905.
Wesia is a developed country with very high standards of living, quality of life and welfare. It also boasts an advanced high-income economy.
