From Middle Badul snam, from Old Badul snam, from Vulgar Ucerian snam, from the first person singular form of Areric snāt, snām, from Proto-Bintic snāti. Cognate with Torse snámh (to swim) snaid (to bathe), Hall snau (to swim), Kuprian snaw (to swim), Narn nauf (swimming), naufio (to swim).
