The Equites of the Empire of Exponent were a social and political class that owed their position to their family history of martial service to the Empire. Many of the leading Equite families received large tracts of land and prestige during the period of the Hesperidesian Crusades, and many continued on in a military capacity until the fall of Exponent in 1996.

Today, several families that belonged to the Equite family remain in prominent positions within the Blackhelm Confederacy, primarily through wise investments and connections.
