The Verdelainiatic languages constitute a branch of the Indo-European language family. The most important language in the tree is Old Ledonian, a now extinct dialect which was spoken by the Ledonian Empire, which conquered much of the world before hundreds of rebellions; the most widely-spoken dialect is High Berushian, which is spoken in the Holy Saletry Empire of the Berushians, a former colony of Ledonia. The other Verdelainiatic languages in the Northern branch became extinct in the 6th millennium BL as they assimilated into some form of Old Ledonian as the Ledonian Empire; these forms later grew into other, more distinct languages.
