Lucle is a developing nation and a presidencial republic governed by president Victor Aldéric. It is going through the process of industrialization and economic diversification, with its long-dominant mining sector losing it's importance to sectors such as construction, manufacturing and transportation. The Laissez-Fairre system, implement in Lucle since 1995, has fostered the rise of several monopolies ,mainly in it's mining sector, which is dominated by two major corporations, Compagnie Minière de Montclaire and Groupe Minier du Futur. Under the presidency of Victor Aldéric, various have been introduced to reduce the influence of these monopolies, which also control the transportation and electricity sectors. Since their independence in 1883, monopolies have held a tight control over the nation's economy, one such example is the Société Royale des Ressources, one of Lucle's biggest monopolies during the 19th century, with it holding a tight grip into the country until 1936, when it went bankrupt and the Groupe Minier du Futur took it's place.

Political System of Lucle

Lucle is a presidencial republic where the president holds significant power, overseeing the executive branch and appointing cabinet members and other officers. The president acts independently from the legislature and has the power to veto legislation. Each president may serve up to three terms, with each term being five years long. Impeachement can only occur by a unified decision from the legislative and judiciary branches. Elections take place every 5 years and typically have 2 rounds. A candidate needs at least 51% of the votes to be elected in the first round, otherwise, the top three candidates proceed to a second round, where majority winner prevails. The last election saw Victor Aldéric of the Union des Modérés Démocrates (UMD) win, marking a shift from the left-aligned policies of the Partenariat des Démocrates Progressistes (PDP), a center-left coalition.

With the Plan d'industrialisation et de développement économique, Industrialization and Economic Development Plan, being the project that got him elected, which promotes changes to the laissez-fairre system, with the curtailing of various monopolies and governmental subsidies to small business, a broader promotion of the free market within Lucle and the privatisation of several state-owned industries, mainly in the transportation sector.
