The Neo-Korean Aerial Defense Force, also known as the NKADF and the NKAF, is the aerial warfare component of the Neo-Korean State, responsible for airspace operations, electronic warfare, space operations including the launching of satellites, and the maintenance of national radar systems not associated with the Coastal Defense Forces. It has an estimated personnel number of 70,000 men, and approximately 680 aircraft, of which 210 are fighters.

The NKADF has its origins in the Kaesong-era Kaesong State Aerial Forces founded in 1918, organized from early experimental groupings in the Kaesong State Army and reorganized as a separate branch to prevent overfocus on ground affairs. The KSAF would prove effective in the Chamorro War, acting as a credible threat to the Marquesan Air Force through its advanced for-the-time monoplane fighter designs.

The NKADF is a fully professional service, unlike the Neo-Korean Ground Forces and the Neo-Korean Navy, owing to a perceived necessity for professional pilots to be utilized in the piloting of the generally advanced designs in utilization.

History

Kaesong

Kaesong would be an early adopter of independent airforce concepts, creating the Kaestong State Aerial Forces out of the experimental groupings of the Kaesong State Army in 1918, owing to both a desire to carry the advanced monoplane designs being produced into the period into an effective tactical position and due to the personal comraderie many early airforce leaders had with Morikawa Hirasada, a key military official of the time period and close confidant to the leader of Kaesong. They would receive a large budget and much of the resource priority of the developmental budget of the era.
