Yui Townley ( née Shino; born 05 Janaury 1974) is a Meridonian politician who is currently serving as President of Meridon. Prior to her instatement following the resignation of President Wiliam Acton, she had served as the Vice President of Meridon since 10 May 2020; and before that as a Senator for the 7th District Alexandria from 2008 to 2020. Townley was sworn in as President following the resignation of William Acton in the aftermath of the Advent Island crisis in early October of 2023 to serve the remainder of his term.

Townley was born in Alanstown, Alexandria Territory.


Early life

Townley was born on 05 January 1977 in Alanstown, Alexandria Territory, to a pair of second-generation Japanese immigrants who worked as administrators in various territorial and federal offices throughout their careers. She was an only child. Townley was raised in Alanstown until 1981, when her family relocated to Cordelia, where she attended public schools until entering high school. Townley was briefly active in a number of extracurricular activities such as clubs for chess, art, and cooking; but often attended supplementary lessons until entering high school.In 1988, she was accepted to Rhonne Academy, Auburk University's affiliated preparatory school, and their family moved back to Alanstown in order to support her.

Personal life

Townley is married since 1995 to Mitchell Townley, a mid-level executive for Whiteswan Hospitality Group, however she has rarely been seen with him since 2010. Townley has stated that they are "still very much married, but we lead separate lives". Townley is an avid reader and enjoys gardening, and regularly dances for exercise. She has one daughter, Yukino, born in 1996.
