Eskavia (Waldish: Eskland, Eskavian: Eskävisik), officially the Republic of Eskavia (Waldish: Republikken Eskland, Eskavian: Eskävisikut Häkilnu), is a sovereign state in Elia Australis. It lies between the Medan Ocean to the west, TBA to the northwest, TBA to the northeast, the Alconian Ocean to the west, and the X Ocean to the south. Eskavia's capital and largest city is Kalonak, with other major cities including Fossenvik, Palostaku, Nordhavn, and Mariestad. With a population of more than 38 million, Eskavia is the Xth most populous nation in the world.
Humans have inhabited Eskavia for at least 12,000 years. The first Calesian explorers arrived in 1510, after which both Falland and Waldrich established colonies in the region. In 1721, Waldrich annexed Fallish Eskavia as a consequence of the Waldish–Fallish War. During the 1860s, the colonies of Waldish Eskavia fought a series of wars for independence that ultimately forced Waldrich to relinquish its possessions in continental Elia Australis. Efforts to unify the newly independent states began following the War of 1887, which saw Waldrich reconquer the Hisuka peninsula.

- Several colonial wars as both Fallish Eskavia and Waldish Eskavia expand
- Waldish–Fallish War (1709–1721) breaks out over colonial tensions, Falland cedes its possessions to Waldrich
- Independence movements gain traction after the Twelve Years' War but are setback after the failed X Revolt of 1803
- Waldish defeat in the First Cuthish War reignites the sovereignty movement and leads to a revolutionary wave in Waldish Eskavia
- Revolutions end in 1868 with all X number of former colonies gaining independence as sovereign states
Early independence period
- First Hisuka War of 1887 sees Waldrich reconquer the Hisuka peninsula, Eskavian states are anxious and begin to integrate for the purposes of collective defense
- The Republic of New Aursdal spearheads the establishment of the North Eskavian Federation
- Second Hisuka War takes place in 1903, Waldrich is defeated and Hisuka joins West Eskavia
- West Eskavia remains neutral during the Great War but temporarily reconciles with Waldrich due to fears of Nadauran aggression
- West Eskavia invades the Waldish islands of X during the X War and annexes them
