The 116th WorldVision Song Contest was held 11th November 2024 in Concord, Plangainer. The show was organised by the International Broadcasting Alliance (IBA) and host broadcaster Alternative International Media (AIM)
This was the first time that Plangainer hosted the contest, and it saw 26 nations participating. The hosts were Douglas Stinnett and Angela Ingram.
Host Bidding Process
Two countries showed interest in hosting the 116th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, with the ballot for host voting being held between 12 August and 19 August between member broadcasters participating in the contest.
Cäer, Darkmania
The city of Cäer were interested in hosting the contest at the Builderman Arena (also known as Cäer Indoor Hall), a multi-use venue with a total capacity of 10,000 spectators, after host bidding in the previous edition. The city is the second largest in Darkmania with a population of 7 million, and is also home to the Cäer Musical Festival.
Concord, Plangainer
The city of Dougaç expressed interest in hosting the contest at the Ruslanov-Aminev Centre, the largest stadium in the province of Daşdar and home to the Dougaç FC team. With a spectator capacity of 15,000 for events, the arena was adjusted to be fit to host the contest with the accompanying car park being converted into an open-air market. The stage which was included with the submitted bid to the contest committee was designed by Carmen Fauskov.
AIM and the local authority of Concrod submitted a host bid in the cultural capital of Plangainer, with a population of 1.4 million people, partnering with Benson, Tamook, Plangainer Railways and Remedy for the contest. The contest would be hosted in the Phoenix Arena, located in a commercial area of Concord, with a capacity of 28,000, it is one of the most modern and largest arenas in the country hosting several major sport and music events, such as the Melodine Song Festival.
Results
The WorldVision Committee published the outcome of the ballot on 22nd October 2024, announcing that Concord, Plangainer would host the 117th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest.
