  • Tensions with the metropole spill over after the Twelve Years' War, leading to a failed revolt known as the Nybyggerkrigen
  • The colonists are too weak and franted and lose the war, but gain concessions that allow for increased autonomy, lower taxes, and self-government
  • Coshaqua begins to industrialize during the first half of the 19th century
  • The First Cuthish War reignites tensions with the metropole, which increases taxes and conscripts Coshaquans to support the war effort
  • Coshaquans are outraged at being asked to fund and fight in a war in Calesia, and demand independence
  • A standoff ensues between colonial and settler forces and some clashes occur, but Waldrich is losing the war with Falland and has neither the will nor ability to quash the nascent rebellion
  • After a series of negotiations, independence is declared on 13 September 1866
