The economy of Willink is a highly developed laissez-faire libertarian capitalist economy. Considered one of the most open and pro-business in region, as well as the second or third largest economy in Haven with a gross domestic product of some 1.7 quadrillion dollars, the Willinkian economy is broadly diversified and demonstrates qualities of autarky, a function of its enormous size, geography, and various comparative advantages in policy and trade. Willink is both a member of the G5 and G19 Havenic economic forums, as well as the home of the Organization for International Economic Development, considered one the region's preeminent international capitalist think tanks. As Willink does not possess a government in normative sense, its economy is wholly dominated by the private sector; the state does not engage in taxation, central banking, or enforce a regulatory apparatus upon economic actors. With the free movement of capital and and no government control of the money supply, Willink runs a balance of payments that trends toward zero, despite constituting one of the largest trading nations in the region.

Willink's unique trade environment has led the polity to emerge as one of the largest wealth shelters and tax inversion centers in the known world; at a regional level, Willink is home to the largest number of billionaires in Haven, the most holding companies in Haven, and the largest number of expatriates residing within its borders. Notable multinational companies headquartered in Willink include ARES Group, a Soviet Bloc-Space Union-Willinkian defensive conglomerate, Anglo Tobacco, a Questarian-Willinkian tobacco company, Strategic Services, a Doomani-Willinkian private military contractor, and the Eastern Havenic Trading Company, a Praetonian-Willinkian trade and shipping conglomerate. Rich in natural resources, Willink is one of Haven's largest exporters of petroleum, natural gas, iron, copper, marble, phosphates, precious metals, and uranium.
