Marism is a monotheistic religion and tradition centred on the teachings of Guardian Mari, which were codified by the ten Followers. Marists adhere to the prophecy as codified in the Hicak. Established by a priest named Szalbacaile in 1344, the religion started spreading clandestinely amongst former Ditanists in Brilliania. There are two major movements in Marism: the Reformist Marists or Liberal Marists and Orthodox Marists.
Current Marism originated as an offshoot of Brillian pagan traditions in the fourteenth century, with the Hicak being re-codified by followers based off original texts.
Characteristics
The Marist religion is a continuation and modernisation of Brillian paganist traditions. The Marist belief system includes the belief in a God, who revealed Himself to Mari and sent a covenant. Mari proceeded to codify seven major rules for the creation of an ideal populace based off the covenant she recieved, which Mari gave to the people. Unlike pagan religions dominant in Cardia and Hallania, Marism is based off the principle of monotheism with the sole God not communicating with fellows but instead guiding the people He commands. Nearly all Marists generally apply the rules of Jokabideak to their daily life, in which they can cause God to come into their lifes by practising in prayer and study.

The codification of sacred texts, the Hicak, consists of five books and is often supplemented by religious study books and verbal traditions. A basic structure of the Hicak is as follows:
