The Battle of Aszód was a protracted urban battle between Ruvelkan and Syaran forces during the Invasion of Ruvelka. Shortly after Syara invaded Ruvelka on 4 April 1934 Syaran forces reached Aszód, Ruvelka's largest southern city. The Syaran Eighth Army had largely surrounded the city by late April. Between 30 April-3 May Ruvelkan forces launched a counter-offensive partially aimed at linking up with the Aszód Garrison. Although Brigadier General Kata Kovács was able to reach the city, subsequent Syaran counter-strokes cut off Aszód from the rest of Ruvelka.

Despite the evacuation of the Ruvelkan government and the collapse of Ruvelka's defense strategy following Allamunnic entry into the war, Ruvelkan forces in Aszód continued to hold out. By June much of the city had been destroyed by Syaran shelling, and Syaran troops attacked and occupied more and more of the urban landscape. Ruvelkan troops depleted their ammunition and supplies by 8 June, leading the mass surrender of thousands of Ruvelkans and the effective capitulation of the city. The fall of Aszód is generally considered to mark the end of the invasion of Ruvelka.

Despite the fall of Aszód, Kata Kovács and thousands of Ruvelkan Fusiliers and soldiers were able to escape the city's encirclement, most of whom would go on to form the Földalatti; Ruvelka's resistance movement during the Syaran occupation.
