3rd Grand Marshall of the All-Akina Armed Forces
Assumed office 6 September 2017
Monarch | Khorkov Olegovich |
Aoi Yuuto is a Akian military leader, businesswomen, and politician who concurrently holds the offices of Grand Marshall of All-Akina, Chairwomen of the Assets Commission of the Akinac Armed Forces, and the Leader of the Central Cabinet (Akina). She is the most powerful transsexual women in Sunalaya, and is one of Sunalaya's many influential LGBTQ+ figures. Unlike figures such as Ymira or Karen, Aoi has chosen to maintain a limited public presence, and has actually reversed many liberal reforms in Akina. She is seen as the most powerful person in Akina, and the third line in the so called "Yuuto Dynasty". While her reign has signficantly improved LGBTQ+ rights in Akina, she has been criticized as a "neo-authoritarian", and following in the footsteps of her parents.
Aoi was born as the first son to Akina's former leader, Gendo Yuuto. While her early childhood history is mostly under wraps it is believed she lived in Lindenholt from 6 to 20, attending a prestigious international school. From what we know she was believed to be a loner, and attempted to distance herself from the outside world. She also developed significant gender dysphoria, and transitioned in secret from age 17. With her father's retirement she was thrust into power as the country's grand marshall. Soon after her father died, with what many believe was intentional murder planned by Aoi, and Aoi revealed her LGBTQ+ status. Aoi conducted an anti-corruption purge from her ascension in 2017, removing many of her political rivals.
Aoi ideologically is believed to be a Schmttian and believes in a strong authoritative legalist meritocracy. Even though many Western observers see her as a continuation of the Akinac authoritarian tradition, many Akinac and Ophionese scholars dispute this, seeing her as a massive break in Akinac politics. While previous leaders focused on harmony between the various regions of the country and greater international economic relations, Aoi wants to create a strong centralized state, with isolationist and etatist economic leanings. Her reign is a significant win for Sinprapka wings of the Akinac state. She has also furthered the secretive nature of the Akinac state putting ever more power in the hands of the army and govcorps, and reducing the power of career politicians in the Slavic and Turkic regions. Aoi has attracted enormous criticism for her policies globally, and even in Akina where political tension has risen drastically.
