There have been 7 rulers of the Empire of Derita. While the first rulers of the country were Kings between 1501 to 1860, after 1860, the country identified as an official empire. Under Allan the Great the monarch was officially called Emperor of the Deritains this was done in hopes of bringing the monarchy down closer to the people. However this was removed in 1894 after Allan the Great's abdication and in 1899 his son and successor, Antoine I, Emperor of Derita officials had it changed to Emperor of Derita

In 2000, Almahn II briefly titled himself as Emperor of the Deritains, but in 2002 he changed it back to that of the Emperor of Derita. In 2020, after the victory of the Merveilleux War and the abdication of Queen Jenna II of Great Hyruke, Almahn II took the throne of Great Hyruke was now both a Emperor of Derita and a King of Great Hyruke. This Dual Monarchy System is alive even today, and has been formed into the title of King-Emperor. The title, as of 2037, also refers the Emperor part with it being the High King of Great Hyruke and Tsar of Russlande.
