The Alekso Line was a series of fortificaitons constructed and utilized by the Army of the Syaran Republic during the Desopya Campaign of the Divide War. Construction began in August 1917 rouhgly in line with Syaran positions following the initial Cacertian drive on Zovahr, the Syaran capital. Originally just a network of trenches, the Alekso Line grew in complexity and depth throughout the course of the campaign. The Line shifted location and length several times in accordance with offensives launched by both sides. Wary of increasing potency by Cacertian offensives, the line steadily grew in depth over the course of the campaign, and at it's peak was nearly 70 kilometers deep, composed of seven defensive "belts" ringed with barbed wire, machine guns, reverse slope defenses, bunkers, pillboxes, minefields, and pre-sighted artillery fire zones. At it's peak, the Alekso Line was manned by 75 divisions and supported by 1,760 guns, and more than 6,000 machineguns.
The Alekso Line generally worked as intended for much of the war, but in the summer offensive of 1918 Cacertian forces, behind freshly consctructed early tanks and armored cars, succesfully breached the Line in several sectors. Nevertheless pre-positioned reserves managed to contain the breakthroughs, and ultimately ended the Cacertian offensive in a Syarn victory.
