Almayure Saxel was a historic warlord and conqueror, famous for transforming the Kingdom of Yosuytet into Almayure's Empire, which united the majority of Rotsir tribes during the high middle ages centuries before their unification under the Great Peacemaker. Although famous as a warrior, Almayure took a keen interest in development, infrastructure, and architecture that left a lasting legacy across the Rotsir Highlands and nearby regions. He is credited with foundation of paved highways servicing nearly half of modern Rotsir, and stimulating regional trade to economically boost lowland city-states.
Almayure is the first Rotsir chieftain to have the epithet Yanitl, which Western scholars generally translate as the Great but literally means honored. During his reign, he grew the small kingdom of Yosuytet to enforce its rule over much of the surrounding countryside, and used strategy to overcome his more powerful neighbors in rapid succession. His realm expanded from the city of Yosuytet and nominal control over surrounding farms to cover the entirety of the Rotsir Highlands, with expeditions undertaken to subjugate lowland chiefdoms. By the time of his grandson, the empire had reached its peak extent, and is often considered the first unifier of the Rotsir people and one of the first pan-Rotsir historical events.
