The Kingdom of North Jericho, (also referred to as The Supreme Government of The Kingdom of North Jericho) is a country located on the southern peninsula of a western island in the Ridgefield region.

History

North Jericho become an independent nation after the Jericho Civil War of 1975. The revolution resulted after decades of martial law ordered by Supreme Leader Maij. The climax of the tension came when General Rajav Asaph Molkiva (now King Asaph I of North Jericho) was able to turn 1/3 of the military forces against the Supreme Leader under the pretense of a more democratic union for the people of Jericho; one that relied on a heavy law and order system, but one that did not result in martial law. After an attempted coup d'etat, orchestrated by General Molkiva, failed in 1974 the country split into two factions with the majority of the military and half of its citizens supporting Jericho and Supreme Leader Maij. The failed coup d'etat allowed Supreme Leader Maij to retreat to the southern part of the nation along with a majority of the military as his escort. Over the next several months General Molkiva was able to build up military support acquiring some detractors from the Supreme Leader along the way. There were several battles that transpired over the next year, but relatively speaking the war was fairly short only lasting 15 months.

Molkiva's military strategy was much more modern compared to that of Supreme Leader, and as time went by Supreme Leader Maij's military allegiances were starting to falter as leadership started to fear a victory by the rebellion. This resulted in the surrender of many military personnel on the battlefield to Molkiva. Rather than executing the prisoners, Molkiva offered deals and positions to his former peers in return for their loyalty, support, and continued fight against the mother nation. Those that pledged allegiance to Supreme Leader Maij, were ultimately executed, and left on the streets for others to see as a reminder.

Molkiva's ability to out maneuver the Supreme Leader with strategic victories, military personnel capture, and city occupations ultimately led to the continued suppression of the Supreme Leader's sympathizers to the lower part of the nation. After the victorious conquest of the city of Praav, the Supreme Leader was willing to concede to Molkiva. Days later the two soon entered into peace treaty negotiations. The treaty resulted in the birth of North Jericho as an independent nation, free from the nation of Jericho, along with the annexation of all the previously occupied cities.

The battle of Praav was such a defeat to the nation of Jericho that Molkiva deemed it the new capital of North Jericho just days after the peace treaty was signed. Molkiva was deemed a hero to the people of North Jericho, and agreed to serve as head of state temporarily until the nation was able to form a new government, legislature, and constitution for her people. Molkiva's leadership was so well respected and liked amongst the people that the constitutional convention of North Jericho decided to implement a monarchy and establish General Molkiva the King of the new nation. Reluctantly, Molkiva agreed to the terms presented to him and became the monarch, King Asaph I, of The Kingdom of North Jericho. King Asaph I has ruled over the nation of North Jericho since his coronation in 1980.
