The Greater Eastern Union Ministry of Defense (Zhenian: 대동진국연방 국방부/大東秦國聯邦 ), often just the Ministry of Defense (Zhenian: 국방부/國防部) for short, is the governmental department of the Government of Zhenia tasked with the implementation and maintenance of defense policies set by the government of Zhenia, as well as oversight of issues directly concerning the national security of the nation and the Greater Eastern Union Defense Forces. It is headquartered in the Hall of War located in Daedo, next to Sudo district where most other governmental agencies are headquartered in.
The primary objectives of the Ministry concern the protection of Zhenia and its interests against foreign aggression, the implementation of Zhenian military force as required by both domestic and international law, and the upholding of global peace and stability as stated by international law. In adherence to such objectives, it is currently led by Minister of Defense Eo Jaeyeon, who also assumes leadership over the defense forces, with the assistance of two deputy ministers instead of one like most ministries. It has a total of five affiliated administrations under it, including each department for the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as the Administration of Military Acquisitions and Procurement and the Defense Manpower Management Administration. It also oversees the operation of military academies across the nation, including the National Military Academy.
