The Magan-Khalyk Republic (Маган-Халык Республика; Magan-Khalyk Respublika MKR), often referred to simply as Magan-Khalykia (Маган-Халыкия) in diplomatic documents and contemporarily known as the First Republic of Maganskia (Первая Республика Маганския; Pervaya Respublika Maganskiya) existed between 1917 and 1947 and was the first modern establishment of Maganskia.
Amidst the turmoil and chaos of the February Revolution, the Magan People's Congress and Khalyk National Council convened in Magansk where they issued the Proclamation on the Common State of Magans and Khalyks effectively creating the MKR with the original intention of remaining part of a federal and democratic Russia. However with the onset of the Russian Civil War the MKR declared total independence from Russia in 1918.
