The Sacellanus Missile is a supersonic, lightweight, quick reaction, fire-and-forget missile designed to provide point defense against anti-ship cruise missiles as well as engage helicopter/other airborne threats and enemy surface vessels. The weapon is designed to provide quick response and superior protection for naval vessels. It is equipped with infrared guidance and autonomous dual-mode passive radio frequency (RF) system, and requires no shipboard support after launch. In laymens terms, this means that the missile is guided initially by the radiation emitted by the seeker of the incoming missile, and in the terminal phase switches over to infrared homing. The missile also incorporates the added capability of autonomous IR-all-the-way guidance, thus countering advanced anti-ship cruise missiles that do not employ onboard radar seekers, giving Confederate commanders a strong weapon to defend their ships with.

The launching system - a 24-round or a 12-round launcher - and the missiles comprise the weapon system.
