Lyrics

Savic version Translation

På drendetog til fremmed land
dro menn av Savske ætt,
på kongeskip sto mann ved mann
av Hirden kamp beredt.
Til Erdland og Borland og Virsland,
gikk ferden på langskip mot vest,
i Wonland, i Hauvland og Strendland,
var Savmannen ubuden gjest.
Ja, fienden de måtte vike,
selv prestene de tapte din makt,
For til vern om det storsavske riket
stod trofaste Hirdmenn på vakt.
Nå reiser vi en Hird påny
av kong magnars menn.
Og her i gamle Skalla by
står Drendickorpset frem.
Se baunene lyser fra fjellet
Bærer bud om den nye tid.
Og baunenes lys skal fortelle
om Hirdmenn som fylkes til strid.
Da fienden atter skal vike
og pampene tape sin makt,
For til vern om det stornorske riket
står trofaste Hirdmenn på vakt.

On Drenthic raids to foreign lands
went men of Savic blood
On kingships stood man by man
of Hird ready to fight
To Ederland and Borland and Vierzland
Went the voyage of longships to the West
In Vyzinia, in Hauvel and Luepola
was the Savman an uninvited guest
Yes, the enemy-they must retreat
even the priests lost their power,
For the protection of the great Savic empire
Stood loyal Hirdmen on guard
Now we rise a Hird again
from King Magnar's men
And here in old Skalla city
Stand forth the Drenthic Corps
See the beacons' lights from the mountains
Carrying the message of the new age
And the beacons' light shall tell
of Hirdmen who ready for battle
Then the enemy shall retreat
and the bosses lose their power
For the protection of the great Savic empire
Stood loyal Hirdmen on guard
