Prisantism is a Gnostic religion . It is a multi-tendency faith centered on a dualistic cosmology of good and evil with theological elements of henotheism, monotheism/monism, and polytheism. Though it originated in X with the teachings of the Prophetess X, it has since spread and diversified greatly, leading to the rise of several faiths based on its teachings which are all typically, despite their differences, grouped under the category of Prisantism.
Prisantist teachings revolve around the veneration of a benevolent goddess of light, X, Her emanations, and a five-tier hierarchy consisting of several minor deities created by Her, frequently presented in groups of five or multiples of five. This focus on the number five as a divine concept led to the use of the pentagram as a holy symbol. The Goddess and her creations stand in conflict with the Demiurge, a divine being of darkness which created the material plane, trapping Humanity, as creatures of light created by the Goddess, in the darkness. Traditional scripture holds that the Goddess will eventually defeat the Demiurge, ushering in the End Times as material realm of darkness is destroyed and Humanity rejoins the realm of light in immortal happiness. Prisantist theology includes the importance of following the Threefold Path revolving around Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. There is also a heavy emphasis on spreading happiness, mostly through charity, and respecting the spiritual equality and duty of the genders, as well as protecting and venerating nature and its elements. Through following Prisantist teachings, humans are able to reach gnosis and escape into the realm of light, while failing to do so may lead to suffering in the afterlife for indefinite period of time until either a soul truly repents for their sins or the end times bring them into the Goddess's embrace.
