Secularism was first introduced with the Constitution of 1928 after the overthrow of the monarchy, which declarin Kurdistan as a secular state and with the later reforms of Kurdistan's first president which set the administrative and political requirements to create a modern, democratic, secular state. neither recognizes an official religion nor promotes any.
