The Nualláin Scheme
The Nualláin Scheme (Formally known as Operation Blue Planet) was a military operation made by Thomas Nualláin and advised by the war cabinets of Teckia and Assumptaria. The operation was organizing the increasement of carbon dioxide production and other greenhouse gases by the participating nations in order to melt the polar regions and in the process drown Shedehnoah. The plan was drafted in December 18, 2019 and unclassified on Feburuary 13th, 2020. The plan was controversial.
Controversial Labeling
The classification of the Military Operation is debated considerng that no military assets will ever been used during the operation. The Nualláin Scheme focuses entirely on the use of civillian and commerical assets in order to commence. Critics of the operation have suggested names such as "Nualláin Plan" "Nualláin Doctrine" "Nualláin Scheme" Whilst Operation Blue Planet is still used formally, many scholars and covillians are used to referring to the operation as the Nualláin Scheme. There has lots of outcry towards the military to change the name
Operations
The first portion of the plan was to build a series of floodways and flood dams across the northern sections of the country in order to protect it from the globally rising sea levels. This was estimated to cost 13 billion. The second portion was to build an artifical dyke across the Teckian-Shedic border which was estimated to cost 25 billion. The third portion of the plan was to temporarily suspend enviormental laws which would affect the atmosphere, subsidize industrial corporations and increase the industrial capacity of nationally-owned corporations of both nations. The expected result of these actions was to increase global warming, melt the polar regions and raise the sea levels which would subsequently drown Shedehnoah.
Arguments For
- This approach would allow for the defeat of the Shedic State whilst not having to bear the international and domestic condemnation of declaring war
- This plan would save the lives of countless assumptarian soldiers and possibly the lives of allied nation soldiers but still defeat Shedehnoah.
- The industrial portion of the plan would increase Assumptarian and Teckian GDO
- The dam and dyke building portions of the plan would give countless Teckians and Assumptarians jobs
Arguments Against
- This plan is slow and cumbersome compared to a military invasion.
- The plan would cost an insane amount compared to a military invasion.
- The plan would likely spark protests across Assumptaria and Teckia because of how their tax money was spent.
- The plan only focuses on select nations in the northern region of the world and ignores otner nations that would unfairly have to suffer the consequences.
- Jernborg, an assumptarian ally in politics and culture would likely lose their northern island which contains 5 million people.
- The plan is very short-sighted and refuses to acknowledge the future caused by climate change after the plan.
- What profit would be made from the industrial stimulation would likely be slow to come and take place over the course of decades
- Countless ecosystems and creatures would die in the process of this plan
Controversial Discussion
The plan was very controversial and faced support and contempt and ultimately failed.
Assumptarian Reaction
Assumptarian War Cabinet
The former Assumptarian War Cabinet especially the former assumptarian druid of defense Kelly Cloon were in full support of the operation. Thomas Nualláin was part of the cabinet and it was believed that he had convinced them to support the plan,
Assumptarian Government
The Assumptarian Head Druid Clark O'Kelly had also supported the plan and tried to convince the Druid of Finance to support the plan and allocate funds to the plan aswell however he opposed the Head Druid stating that "Such works of fiction are better left to the minds of adolescents and the sllured minds of intoxicated drunks".
Teckian Reaction
Teckian War Cabinet
There was universal support amongst the Teckian War Cabinet similar to the assumptarians at the time.
Teckian Government
The Teckian Government was the main opposer of the plan. They claimed that the plan would be expensive and that it would be much hastier and cheaper to instead have a militaristic conflict with Shedehnoah. They refused to partake in the plan and it was this teckian reaction that encouraged the assumptarians to also quit the plan as they realised it would be very difficult and a daunting task to significantally boost global warming on their own
