The National Guard of Buite Hemel is the military force under the command of the Warlord Sovereign, responsible for the protection of the polity of Buite Hemel. Like the Expeditionary Forces and Logistics Forces of Buite Hemel, it is a unified military body containing land, sea, and air elements. Headquartered in Omhaya Citadel, the National Guard maintains force elements in all 36 administrative districts of Buite Hemel. The National Guard contains 19 corps, split into a 55 sub-divisons, totalling approximately 304,000 active personnel.
Role
Primary operations include national defense, and the protection and enforcement of the sovereignty of Buite Hemel. Secondary operations include anti-piracy operations, disaster relief, emergency management, and counter-terrorism. Additionally, the 1st Military Police Corps serve a dual role as both military police for the National Guard, and as Federal Police for the polity of Buite Hemel.
Largely a reserve force, most elements of the National Guard are nominally active, with only a minimum number of full-time troops, with the majority holding full or part-time jobs 4 days of the week, and serving 2 days in the guard on a rotating schedule. All reserve troops train throughout the year to maintain combat readiness in case of emergency.
Organizational Structure
The 304,000 troops of the National Guard are under the direct command of the National Chief, subordinate to the Master Marshal. The National Chief oversees and controls deployment of the 19 corps, each of which is headed by a Corps Chief. Corps are organized by combat role, with NG-01 - NG12 serving a direct combat role, and the remainder largely serving combat support or combat service support.
The current National Chief is Johannes Eriksson, appointed by the Warlord Sovereign in 2018.
