The Charge class corvette was designed for maritime patrol in the Sea of Aegaeon as well as coastal patrol along the shores of Huvakia. The Charge class is a capable warship able to engage ships twice it's size with a competent commander. With the advent of long range missiles and more advanced sensor suites the Espora is beginning to show it's age. In recent combat simulations the Charge class rarely makes it into engagment range of modern advesaries. While the charge is still the most numerous warship in service it is slowly being phased out in favor of the Prowler Class Corvette which has limited stealth capabilities as well as facilities for modern long range missiles.
