Viaxe is an Aisling rock band established in 1973 in Dinnet, Temuair, located outside of Sattel, by brothers Nacio Quiles and Conley Rabago. Though the band undergone several transformations throughout the years, neither brother, along with original drummer Lúcás Bulin, has ever left it. During their career, the band has released a variety of record setting albums and songs, many of which remain popular today, with their album Flee, reaching number 1 on the Cartelera charts, and breaking into the top 100 on international ratings. The bands albums have sold over 57 million albums in Temuair, with worldwide sales exceeding 115 million, making them one of the best selling bands in the world. Imperio Novas poll in 2012 ranked Viaxe the best rock band from Temuair. Viaxe has become the staple icon of anthem rock, a genre of rock music originating in Temuair which is primarily played in large venues, such as stadiums and arenas.

History

In 1980, after the release of the bands fifth studio album, Arrival, Ailín Cea, Viaxe's lead guitarists and one of several backup vocalists, left the band due to his dissatisfaction with the bands image and disagreements with Nacio and Conley Rabago regarding the bands future. In 1980, 19 year old Àngel Vine was recruited and auditioned with the band, winning Cea's place. In 1980, the band recorded its 6th studio album Flee, which is the bands most successful album to date. In 1982 Cartelera did an interview with Ailín Cea, asking if he regretted leaving Viaxe on the cusp of their popularity explosion. Cea replied "No, I don't. The band needed to change, it needed new direction. My leaving it prompted them, forced them, to seek it. In a way, I'm as responsible for Viaxe's success as they are."

Viaxe is one of several artists to have both one the Cartelera Act of the Year award, but to also have carried it tow or more years consecutively. Viaxe received the award for it 1980 album Arrival and again in 1981 for Flee. It was believed that Vizxe would also carry the 1983 Act of the Year award for its Borderlands album, which had preformed with similar to success to the previous two albums. However, in a surprise move, the award was actually presented to Red Diamond for their 1093 concept album Stási. Nacio Quiles commeneted in a 1984 interview with StarLine that he believed this was an intentional act on the part of Cartelera to stop Viaxe for carrying the award three years running and setting an "unbeatable precedent".

In 1986, keyboardist and rhythm guitar player Donal Olan left the band, citing that he no longer wished to live his life in the spotlight and would instead devote his time to his family. The band found Olan incredibly difficult to replace, forcing them to take a hiatus from both studio recording and touring while they searched. In the end, they opted to add an additional member to the band, thereby separating Deliz's duties as both keyboardist and rhythm guitarist. Two new members, Pedro Galicia on rhythm guitar, and Lois Pinel on keyboard joined the band in 1989, and were first featured on the bands 1990 tour.

In 1995 Àngel Vine was killed in a skiing accident in the Vi Castis Mountains. The band canceled its upcoming 1996 tour to mourn the loss of their member, and also to set about finding a replacement. In a 1996 interview with StarLine, Nacio Quiles reported "We are not seeking to replace Àngel, we can't. No one can. We're looking for someone to honor him by playing in his memory." Darío Patera was selected by the band, and the band released its first album with Patera, Baptized in Fire, in 1999. In addition to lead guitar and backing vocals, Belles is credited with writing two of the albums tracks.

Following the release of the bands 2006 album, Twilight, Nacio Quiles indicated the band would "probably not" produce any further studio albums, and would instead focus on touring.
