Diocetus I (Diocetus Maximos Nikephoros Peter Kaligoúlas) was the 53rd Autokrator of Tarsas and sat on the throne from December 21, 1934 to August 8, 1980. He lead the nation during the Third West Scipian War, Fourth West Scipian War, and the First Abalessian War and participated in the negotiation of the Yarden Accords. His harsh policies and refusal to initiate democratic reforms lead to the 1980 Bahktaric Revolution and his death averted war with that country after his son, Markos II initiated negotiations.
