Marcus William “Mark” Haar (born October 31, 1985) is the Chairman and CEO of Noice. He is also known for his previous career as a media personality and model. He is the son of Vance Haar Jr and Sharon Haar (née Bryan), a grandson of former President Vance Haar.
Early life
Haar was born on October 31, 1985, the son of Sharon Haar (née Bryan) and businessman Vance Haar Jr. He is the oldest of three children, Haar has a younger brother, Vance Haar III, and a younger sister, Lauren Haar.
He attended the Madison Preparatory School in Livingstone. Haar graduated from the University of Rhodeland, with a certificate in photography, bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management and a master degrees in organizational leadership. He was also a member of Chi Phi fraternity.
Career
Before graduating from the University of Rhodeland, Harr signed with The Hillary Michaels Modeling Agency. Before his retirement he was one of Hillary Michaels most successful male models. He has been featured on the covers of Freshmen (as 1 of 2 straight men to be on its cover), Outdoorsman and Runway. He frequently modeled for Matthew Vincent, as well as for Fenmore’s and designers Donna Martin and James Holt.
Haar began appearing in the TVRe reality series The Hillary Michaels Modeling Agency in June 2013. He left the series in December 2015 to pursue other business endeavors. Haar also appeared on Splash! finishing as the runner-up in 2014. In 2016, he was a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother, reaching the final and finishing in third place. After his appears on Celebrity Big Brother, Haar retired from modeling and acting.
In September 2016, Haar announced that he had secured the winning bid to purchase Livingstone-based clothing brand Noice, which had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April. Haar’s bid of RD$9.15 million was enough to secure Noice over the bids of two others including capital-investment firm Big Flower Capital. After it sale to Haar, Noice exited bankruptcy as a privately owned company with 595 stores with no immediate plans to close any locations.With Haar becoming its Chairman and CEO.
Personal life
He began dating Ariel Smith in 2014. On December 17, 2016, Haar and Smith where married in the Alexandrian-Prussian Antilles. Their first son, Elijah David, was born on November 21, 2018. Their second son, Nathaniel James, was born on April 19, 2020, two days after his father Vance Haar, Jr. died.
