Jiqaz, officially the Unified Republics of Jiqaz and colloquially as the Jiqazi Union, was established following the collapse of Friendly Island. The name is derived from five cities that withstood the Friendly outbreaks, to establish the constituent contries of Jioku, Imia, Qavé, Axrio, and Zriki. The Republics, since unifying the island under Jiqazi control, have sought a peaceful approach to international relations, allowing the Republics to get strong armed into the Confederacy in return for Roman and Asgareth disputes over western lands to cease. Said arrangements officially ended in the wake of the Asgareth Civil War and subsequent divisions in the Confederacy
