Karina Aristov is the Duchess of Rhynovia (Municipality) and the Grand Princess of Rhynovia.
Karina was born in Thessalona, Belfras where she lived in exile from Rhynovia with her parents who fled the Red Revolution in 1961. At the age of 4 her parents were murdered by the Rhynovian Worker's Republic secret police, the RGSB, who set their hotel room ablaze to try and snuff out the last vestiges of the Rhynoivan monarchy and the Aristov Dynasty. Fleeing the fire with her nanny Karina who was still too young to understand who she was, passed to the care of her father's friend Dunet Vasile whom raised her as his niece under the name Maria Vasile.
At the age of 16 on a trip with Dunet Vasile to the now reformed Grand Principality of Rhynovia, Rhynovian Royal Special Service agents investigated the possible link between Dunet Vasile, Prince Grigori the IV, and the possibility that Maria Vasile was indeed the Grand Duchess Karina Aristov and the heir to the Rhynovian throne. Upon investigation and obtaining samples of Maria Vasile's DNA, they were able to confirm Maria's true identity by matching her genes with a distant relative, Claude De Clermont. Upon confirmation Lord Governor Emil Medved ordered her immediate rescue, which was carried out by the Rhynovian Air Service. Upon her rescue Karina was brought back to Rhynovia where she was placed under the care of Grand Duke Emil Medved the current head-of-government of the Grand Principality.
After a year of recovery from her traumatic childhood raised under the false pretense that she was Dunet Vasile's niece, and the physical and mental abuse she endured under him, Karina Aristov began to assume more duties as heir apparent to the throne of Rhynovia. It was thought to be in her, and the countries, best interest that she not be coronated until she was 18 at which time she would have enough time to adapt to being a royal. Karina under the tutelage of the Lord Governor began to make more appearances, among the public of Rhynovia working charity work for children as one of her main focuses. Karina also presided over many gatherings of the Assembly of Ranks where she oversaw the day-to-day governance of Rhynovia.
