Tropicans (Spanish: Tropicanos) are people who are ethnically associated with Tropico. Tropico is a multi-ethnic nation, home to people of different ethnic and national backgrounds. As a result, some Tropicans do not treat their nationality as an ethnicity but as a citizenship with various ethnicities and national origins comprising the "Tropican people." The culture held in common by most Tropicans is referred to as mainstream Tropican culture, a mixture of different influences and customs having origins predominately in a European cultural basis, largely derived from the traditions of both Spain, especially from Andalusia and the Canary Islands, and the Anglo-Celtic traditions. The country has also been highly influenced by African culture, and Native Taino and Xerdan cultures. Tropico has also received immigration from other parts of Spain and Britain such as Catalonia and Ireland as well as from other European countries such as France, Germany and Portugal and even Asian countries like China and Japan.
The majority of Tropicans reside in Tropico, while there is also a large Tropican diaspora, mainly in the United States and Spain. The population of Tropico in 2016 was estimated at 10.9 million by the National Bureau of Statistics of Tropico.
