Cennara (Acarese: سنار Sannār), officially the Sultanate of Cennara (Acarese: سلطنة سنار Salṭanat Sannār), is a country located along the Asur coast of Majula. Cennara is strategically located at the crossroads of Asura, Catai, and Majula, resulting in a dynamic national history. As of 2019, the country has a population of over 59 million inhabitants. Barka is the capital and the most populous city, Gezira, is among the largest in Majula.

What is now Cennara was a part of the Pergalean Empire and later other empires that developed in the South Asur region. It has been conquered routinely and integrated into various empires originating from neighboring regions. The first Cennaran entity was the Houna Sultanate, which spanned much of coastal Bahra and held territories in neighboring North Majula and Sifar. Various successor sultanates existed in different capacities after its collapse. Its territories were also annexed by other empires in the region. Cennara was colonized by Camria and Rodavia in the 1870s and came under majority Camrian control by the late 1880s. Its strategic location made the region an integral part of Camria's colonial empire.

Cennara was given independence during the 20th century. For most of its post-colonial history, Cennara remained economically backwards and development was concentrated in the main coastal cities. After a brief civil war in the 1960s between the central government and various tribal groups, Ibrahim I ascended to the Cennaran throne. He has ruled since the 1960s and is an important figure in Cennaran politics and society. The monarch's powers were curbed in the 1980s and a more parliamentary system began to develop. Tensions with non-Acarese groups continued and spiraled into insurgency starting in the early 2000s. A military coup against a reformist government in 2015 has elevated the power of the military. The government continues to fight insurgents, remains supportive and protective of the monarchy, and continues to maintain close ties with Camria.

Zohism is the official religion of Cennara and has a long history, first spreading to the region in the 2nd century BCE. Zohism and Zohist ethics have played an important role in Cennaran history and society. Acarese is the official language and is used by the government. Cushite Acarese is widely spoken in Cennara, surpassing Acarese proper in number of total speakers by significant margins. Cennara is a unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy. The current monarch is Ibrahim I. Cennara has a history of alternating between democracy and military rule. Cennara's current government is led by Rashid Ali Al-Barir, a former general. The government has been described as authoritarian by watchdog groups and faces allegations of human rights abuses.
