Aftermath
Claim of responsibility
About four hours after the attack a vagrant walked into the Hartfer offices of the Radictistan Broadcasting Service and delivered a sealed envelope while denying any knowledge of its contents. The enclosed note was a communique from the Communist Party of Radictistan.
Today, the Communist Party of Radictistan has begun its fight against the treacherous Oligarchy which has kept the Workers and Farmers of Radictistan under its cold heel since the foundation of the country. We are the Vanguard of the Revolution and as such it is our responsibility to ensure that the Oligarchs and all their collaborators meet the same painful end which they have hereto reserved for the most vulnerable of the population. Our Struggle will be long and hard but our victory is inevitable. Long live the Proletariat of Radictistan! Long live the working Agrarians! Justice or Death!
The message alerted the Radictistani government for the first time to the existence of the KPR and its intentions.
Government response
Within hours of the attack the Royal Security Police formed a task force commanded by Police Brigade-General Erwin Temblemann for the purpose of defeating the KPR. Surveillance efforts were stepped up against known far-left individuals and investigations into past criminal incidents were reopened to determine any links to the KPR. Despite these efforts the security services were caught unaware by the Sudermann Mall shooting.
Perpetrators
A KPR bomb specialist captured by the Special Action Group of the Royal Security Police during Operation Firebird admitted, under interrogation, to having assembled the explosives used in the December bombings.
