The Amrelian Armed Forces (AAF) are the official military forces responsible for the defense of the Amrelian Federative States. They also promote Amrelia's wider interests, support international peacekeeping efforts and provide humanitarian aid.
HISTORY
Today, the Amrelian Armed Forces consist of: the Army, Amrelia's land warfare branch; the Navy, a blue-water navy with a fleet of 113 commissioned ships, together with the Marine Corps, a highly specialized amphibious light infantry force; the Air Force, a technologically sophisticated air force with a diverse operational fleet consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft; and the Coast Guard, which operates as coastal defense, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement.
The Consul of Amrelia is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and forms military policy with the High Council of National Security.
