Rhodeland, officially the Republic of Rhodeland, is a country located in southern Africa. It is bordered by XXX to the north, South Africa to the south and the remainder of its border is formed by Rhodes Bay to the east. Rhodeland occupies a total area of just 7,270 km2 (2,810 sq mi) and a population of 730,918 (2010 census).

Very little is known about Rhodeland’s pre-colonial history, as many of the original documents and historical sites were destroyed under the orders of Cecil Rhodes during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. But what is known is there were three chiefdoms and the Seroa people lived rather peacefully. Rhodeland was founded by Cecil Rhodes in 1895 by his Indorian South Africa Company. He named the new colony after himself and named its capital, Livingstone in honor of David Livingstone, the explorer who helped Rhodes explore the area. After nearly a century of Indorian rule, Rhodelanders voted for independence. This officially marked the establishment of the Republic of Rhodeland. Rhodeland joined the Grand Imperial Alliance the same day it became independent, on 22 February 1973.

Rhodeland was originally inhabited by the Seroa people. But over the next century, their population nearly vanished as they were either killed or kept as low-class servants. Today Rhodeland is 90% white, 8% Seroa, with other various ethnic groups making up the last 2%.

Rhodeland is a developed country and ranks highly in international comparisons of national performance, such as quality of life, health, education, and economic freedom. The country underwent major economic changes during the early 1980s, which transformed it from a protectionist to a liberalized free-trade economy.

Adjacent to its coast is some of the worlds largest offshore oil fields. Petroleum exploration began in 1954 with the Petroleum Corporation of Rhodeland, when the territory was under Indorian rule. Rhodeland produces 700,000 barrels (110,000 m3) of crude oil per day. It also has a growing commercial hub, the nation is the site of various foreign military bases.
