Janele Toran (née Neville, née Arra, née Stepan) is an Aisling actress who began her career on the television soap opera A Day in the Life in 1991. She has gone on to star in several television shows and movies, including her most notable success The 13th Floor; a 2006 horror film staring herself and Gerardo Espin. She is currently the spokeswoman for Neurogenia, a line of cosmetics and creams from pharmaceutical giant ParaCell. She currently resides in Sattel, in northern Temuair, with her husband Cenek Toran.
Janele's younger sister, Natalie Neville, has also expressed interest in following her sisters footsteps into acting, and stared in her first role at the age of 16 in Pecina High; a thirty minute soap opera aimed at teenage audiences. Since then, she has gone on to lead a more "socialite" life style, and has stared in several adult entertainment films.
Early Life
Rosalina Dana Navia was born on April 17th, 1979. She attended public elementary and high school, and expressed an interest in acting from an early age. she was a member of her high schools drama club, as well as an avid member of the schools debate team.
Career
Marik became renown after her 1997 appearance in Timber!, a romantic comedy staring Iria Dores as the unwilling bride to a wealthy lumber tycoons son. Toran's character, her flustered maid of honor, often stole the spotlight from the lead, and was better received than the lead character in reviews. The movie was a box office success. Toran received an Onyx award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for a Screen Actors Associations Award in the same category.
In 2013, ParaCell recruited Toran as the primary spokeswoman for Neurogenia, signing a contract for over 35 different ads and commercial productions. Many people have criticized both the company's selection of Toran as the product lines spokeswoman and the general tone of the ads; typically seen as implying a person who uses Neurogenia products will be successful in life, and those who do not will be shunned and ostracized by their peers. Critics state that this message is detrimental to the well-being and self-esteem of young adults, especially teenage females in the 13-19 age group. Toran has repeatedly denied these accusations, stating that the ads are not marketed towards any particular age group, In a 2014 interview, she stated "Neurogenia is an everyone product, everyone can use it. Young girls, elderly ladies, even men if they were so inclined. Neurogenia exists to help everyone retain beauty for as long as they can."
Toran, in addition to her acting career, is an avid dancer, and is a guest instructor at the Salas Academy of Dance in Lettera. She also had a brief, and generally unsuccessful, career as a singer/songwriter. Her only album, entitled "A Girl's Desires", primarily about her past relationships, did not enjoy any significant Cartelera success.
Personal Life
Toran has been married three times. Her first marriage, in 1998, was to Alexandre Arra, lead singer of the rock band Cool Lion. In December of 2000, the couple divorced due to "irreconcilable differences", though it was reported by Fate Magazine that the reason for the divorce was due to Alexandre's affair with singer Marisa Salaz. Her second marriage, in 2004, was to Jiří Stepan, a renown painter. This marriage ended in 2008 following a widely publicized verbal dispute at the opening of one of Stepan's works at a Dinsmar art museum. Though she denies it, Toran was reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time, and removed from the museum by police. Her current marriage, to Unity Bank executive Cenek Toran, occurred in 2011. She began her relationship with Cenek Toran in late 2009 and in mid-2010, rumors that she was pregnant surfaced after she declined an offered acting position in an upcoming feature film and announced she would be taking a hiatus from acting for "a short time." Her son, Aindriú Toran, was born in May of 2011.
In December 2014, Fate News reported that a video containing sexual material involving Toran ad ex-husband Jiří Stepan had been released through unknown means on the internet. According to Stepan's lawyer, his client did not release the video intentional, but believes it may have been obtained by reporters from his garbage after he had inadvertently thrown it away. Toran's lawyer, however, contends that her client does not believe this, that the leak was intentional, and that she had never given her permission to be recorded engaging in sexual activities. She has filed a law suit against Stepan.
