The 'AR Fortgeschritten' ('Advanced'), often shortened as 'Fortgesch' [Fort-Gesh] ('Advanced Assault Rifle' as many call it), is a magazine-fed, selective fire, shoulder-fired bullpup system using a bullpup design to decrease length and size; it was designed/is manufactured by Wolf Armaments in TECT. It is a long stroke system (gas operated) piston rifle capable of selective fire; options include firing semiautomatic shots, fully automatic fire, or two round bursts. The Fortgeschritten is made primarily of high-impact resistant plastics and high grade aluminum alloy parts for light weight and versatility; it is waterproof, sealed internally, and easily maintainable/disassembled/reassembled. The cold hammer-forged barrel provides a stronger barrel for greater safety in case of an obstructed bore or for extended firing sessions - it is further enhanced with chrome lining to increase durability and corrosion resistance. Modifications for an over-the-beach (OTB) capability, such as drainage holes in the bolt carrier and buffer system, are used to enable the Fortgeschritten to be fired safely after being submerged in water or in other extremely wet conditions. The Fortgeschritten is ambidextrous, operators can change the bolt to launch used shells right or left of the shooter, thereby allowing left handed shooters better ease while firing.

Designed for reliability in mind - the Fortgeschritten was built from barrel to butt to be reliable, accurate, and easy to operate. Its light plastics and light alloy metals make the Fortgeschritten light, rugged, and safe from the elements. There are few parts to the Fortgeschritten, they are easily removed and replaced - this gives the Fortgeschritten the ability be broken down and reassembled on the battlefield quickly. Being able to disassemble and reassemble quickly also allows for simple and speedy part replacement if needed. The long stroke gas operation allows for affective and reliable operation - similar to the AK series and Tavor. The compact size is thanks to the bullpup design, which gives the Fortgeschritten rifle accuracy with shrunk length. Accuracy and barrel durability was also stressed; the chrome lined cold hammer-forge increases the barrel's strength and longevity while increasing its durability, meaning the Fortgeschritten can fire more rounds faster, longer, and longer longevity. With seven grooves in a 190 mm. twist, the Fortgeschritten's accuracy is assured.

Light and versatile; the Fortgeschritten utilizes its front rail systems to attach multiple weapon systems, sights, and other electronics. The top rails can attach a multitude of weapon sights, such as scopes and lasers, and the folding iron sights can be removed/replaced with other iron sight systems. Side rail systems on each side utilize sensors and other electronics, and a small rail system between the top and side rails allows for smaller attachments, such as lights and lasers. The bottom rail system is designed primarily for forward grips. Tests conducted in all weather types, terrain types, and other variables concluded the Fortgeschritten's tough design. Crushed under, thrown in mud, picked up from the ocean, frozen, sweated, and combined efforts to jam the weapon system failed - the Fortgeschritten standing tall as a reliable, tough, and versatile. The Fortgeschritten is range tested to be accurate and daunting.

Fortgeschritten's primary cartridge is the 6.45×42mm WA CTA which is the standard cartridge used in the TECT Armed Forces; the 6.5mm Grendel is also viable for use with the standard barrel. The second primary round is the 7.58×54mm WA CTA, a larger variant of the 6.45×42mm WA CTA used with the Fort-BR variant; the 7.62×51mm NATO is also a viable choice for this variant. Another variant, the Fort-NATO, utilizes the 5.56×45mm NATO for nations utilizing NATO standardized cartridges. The Fortgeschritten is a popular weapon in the TECT Armed Forces and is used often in police agencies around the country; the Fortgeschritten serves primarily with the Royal Guard, marine units, and other special operations forces. Police favor the Fortgeschritten for its compact and accurate design.

Variants

Fort-NATO

The Fort-NATO is a modified NATO variation of the Fortgeschritten. The barrel and bolt are replaced in favor of NATO standard mechanisms. Instead of Commoner standard ammunition, the 5.56×45mm NATO is chambered as are standard NATO STANAG magazines.

Fort-BR

The Fort-BR is a battle rifle variant of the Fortgeschritten used for accurate and sustained marksman fire. Utilizing a larger barrel and bolt; the Fortgeschritten fires the Commoner standard 7.58×54mm WA CTA, or the NATO standard 7.62×51mm NATO. It was envisioned that the BR variant would provide longer range fire at better accuracies; its larger cartridge, longer barrel, and tight platform allowing the user to perform accurate sustained fire.

Simunition Conversion

Conversion kits are available for all models of the AR Fortgeschritten; they include a bolt carrier (partly colored blue to distinguish it), blank-firing adapter for firing blanks, and an upper receiver colored blue to distinguish it for its practice use. The standard kit will also include a laser transmitter for laser combat systems to use; such systems would include individual soldiers carrying small laser receivers scattered over their bodies, which detect when the soldier has been illuminated by a firearm's laser. Each laser transmitter would be set to mimic the effective range and potential damage of the weapon on which it is used. Depending on how complex the laser combat system is, trainers can retrieve immediate results and statistics compiled by the system; such examples include readings that give medics a digital readout to determine which first aid method to practice and probability readouts. Using the conversion kit, the AR Fortgechritten can seamlessly integrate into these laser combat systems.
