The Mountain Republic of Ossetia (Ossetian: ), or MR Ossetia, was a constituent republic and federated state of the Mountain Republic and the nation state of Ossetians. By its constitution, It is direct continuation of the Ossetian ASSR. Along with five other Mountain republics, it was formed during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and became a republic after the war.
