The Imperial Navy, officaly known as the Teikoku Kaigun, is by far the largest branch of the Cantonese Armed Forces. It's main objective is to defend Canton, their allies, and project their power around the world. As the seaborne branch of the Imperial Armed Forces, the Imperial Navy has various roles. The institution has stated its 4 major roles as detailed below in umbrella terms.
- To prevent conflict both on regional and global level.
- In cooperation with the other armed Cantonese forces, act to eliminate, deter or defeat any threats against the Cantonse crown, its people or Canton's maritime interests, both in peace and war.
- To protect the economic, political and ideological interests of Canton.
- To provide humanitarian aid to regional and/or global catastrophes.
