Alyson Walker Price (née Nelson) is the 19th President of the Shenandoahan Commonwealth, and will begin her second term in office on January 16, 2021. She previously served as the governor of the State of Blue Ridge, and a representative to the House of Delegates for the same state from 2002 to 2008. Prior to this, she began her political career as the Mayor of Parkersburg.
Early life
Born Alyson Walker Nelson in 1962, she was the first and only daughter of Stirling and Malandra Nelson. Stirling Nelson was a well known and popular figure in Shenandoahan political and social circles, and was serving as a representative to the House of Delegates for his home state of Blue Ridge. Malandra Nelson (née Hall) was the daughter of Randolph Hall, owner of Majestic Oil and Gas.
Alyson was given the middle name Walker to observe a tradition carried on by the Hall family since the late 1700's. The first female born into a branch of the Hall family generally receive the name Walker, paying homage to past generations of Hall females. As the first born daughter of Stirling and Malandra Nelson, the couple chose to honor the tradition and bestow the middle name upon their child. In 2012, the Price's carried on this tradition by bestowing the name upon their first born daughter, Hannah Walker Price.
