Dmitri Cerfbeer was appointed by Armala Coalition forces following the Surrender of Lyonia in the Great War. Cerfbeer was instrumental in the creation of the Republic of Lyonia although the Lyonian economy was in crisis and debts had skyrocketed which Cerfbeer got the blame for. In the 1920 Presidential Elections, Cerfbeer was the Liberal Party's candidate although he lost. | |||||||

Jean-Marc de Guignes, a former general in the great war, was elected in the 1920 Presidential Election. De Guignes was a nationalist who advocated for unification of the Lyonian people and implemented a radical economic plan designed to help the Lyonian economy although the economy continued to shrink throughout De Guignes' term. In the 1921 Legislative election the Communist Party won more seats than the UPDL. De Guignes announced a State of Emergency and banned many opposition parties leading to the April Revolution which ousted De Guignes and the government. |
