Bernard Jack Porter (Born 9th of April, 1969) is an American politician, formerly serving as the Secretary of Defence of the United States from 2017 to 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party, and is most well-known for his Presidential run. His presidential campaign is one of controversy, with critics claiming that Porter is a fascist and a Nazi sympathiser, allegations which he categorically denies. His campaign has also been well known for its right-wing stance, with it being widely regarded as to the right of Arnold Wolf, and has come under fire for hardline stances on LGBT issues, national surveillance and promoting alt-right conspiracy theories such as that of a 'liberal elite', which many academics say is a codeword for anti-Semitism.

He has also formerly served in Somalia, in Afghanistan and in Iraq, where, in the latter two, he served as the leader of Western forces, and is regarded as an effective leader in that realm. His efforts in Somalia earnt him the Medal of Honor, awarded to him by President Clifford. He also participated in the production of Black Hawk Down as a consultant, having been an officer on the ground there.
