The Balius is a tracked Syaran infantry fighting vehicle currently in service with the Syaran National Army. The Balius is a modification of the Ceteus with a new engine block, which necessitated an extension of the hull. The Balius replaced the 75mm low velocity cannon with a 30mm autocannon and ATGM launcher configuration, while adding a 12.7mm machinegun as optional. While this increased the weight of the vehicle to over 17 tons, the Balius retains its amphibious capability. The Balius proved more popular with Syaran crews than the Ceteus. First introduced in 1973, the Balius saw service during the Refusal War and the Zemplen War. Production was ceased in 2013, but more than 3,600 remain in use with Syaran reserves and in storage.
