Zitru (Zitran: Kalteland), officially the Federal Republic of Zitru (Zitran: Förbundesrepublik Kalteland), is a country in central and western Zurope. Covering an area of 4,995,049 square kilometers (1,928,599 sq. mi), it is the largest country in Zurope by total area and borders Gerelia to the north, Alderia and the Antalyian Republic to the west, and the Zuropean Sea to the east and south. It is made up of 22 states and various overseas dependencies.

Etymology

The English word Zitru derives from the Esperian Centrium, which was adopted to reflect the country's position in central Zurope. Originally pronounced with a soft c sound (sen-tri-um), it eventually came to be pronounced with a z sound (zen-tri-um). The Zitran term Kalteland derives from the Surenic Kaltaïn, which means "land of the people". The word kalte carried over from Surenic into Old Zitran where it became Kalteland.
