Dateva is the largest city in the Syaran Realm of Hayreniky. While the Realm does not officially recognize a distinct political capital, Dateva usually serves the role informally.
Originally founded in 655 CE by the Hayren Migration which settled southern Syara and neighboring Ruvelka. The settlement, originally founded along the southern banks of the Komir River, steadily expanded southward over the centuries. By the founding of the Republic of Syara it had become the largest Hayren city in Syara. Dateva steadily industrialized over the course of the Republic and became a hotbed of proWarden sentiment in the leadup to the Refusal War. During the conflict the city was besieged by Royalist forces and heavily bombed by the Acrean Air Force before the siege was broken in the winter of 1985-1986. After the foundation of the Commonality Dateva underwent major reconstruction, and today is the industrial and financial center of the Realm.
