Cynthia Tara Rogers-Gonzalez (born October 12, 1959) is an American diplomat and politician who currently serves as the 8th President of Rice University. She previously served as the United States Ambassador to Mexico during the first term of the Baharia Administration and as a member of Congress from 2001 to 2005. She is the daughter of former Texas Governor Ellie Rogers, and briefly ran in the 2019 United States Senate special election in Texas before dropping out due to a breast cancer scare. She is currently running for Congress in Texas' 22nd Congressional District.
